Alice did my hair and makeup for my wedding. The whole process was easy from having my trial through to the real thing on the day. She made me feel at ease as I’m not someone who wears a lot of makeup or does much with my hair! She was able to do exactly what I wanted with my hair and makeup I loved it and felt amazing! If you're looking for a wedding hair and make-up stylist, look no further, Alice Porter is fantastic!
On a day-to-day basis, I don't wear any make-up and even when I go out, my limit is lip gloss and a bit of eyeliner. I have sensitive skin and very little experience with make-up, so when it came to choosing a stylist for my wedding I was very nervous.
After some Google searching and research I found Alice's website. I was impressed by how natural and elegant the hair and make-up looked in the pictures. After exchanging a few emails with Alice, in which we discussed my concerns (mentioned above), I felt very comfortable and decided to go ahead and arranged a hair and make-up trial with Alice.
The trial was a great experience and really calmed my nerves. Alice was lovely, she listened to what I wanted, I showed her some pictures and we tried a few different hairstyles and products and created the exact natural look I was hoping for; I was over the moon! Alice even gave me some tips on how to look after my skin on the run up to the wedding (which I followed religiously and quickly noticed an improvement in the condition of my skin).
On the morning of the wedding Alice was amazing. She was a lovely calming influence, very friendly and incredibly professional. She got to work on my bridesmaids first and then me.
I was so pleased with my final look, it was somehow even better than the trial; I felt like a million dollars. My bridesmaids loved their hair and make-up too and it filled them with joy and confidence.
Our make-up remained flawless all day, even though it was a warm sunny day.
I got loads of compliments on how beautiful my skin looked and how natural my make-up was. I was delighted!
I'm so grateful that I found Alice. She really helped make a special day even more wonderful. So, as I said at the beginning, look no further, Alice Porter is fantastic!

Alice did such an amazing job of my hair and makeup and my bridesmaids for my big day. I’m not a big make up wearer usually so didn’t want to look over the top. My makeup was natural bridal but still me and I felt so confident. Communication was always great and nothing too much trouble. ‘‘Alice was recommended to me on a local Facebook page when I posted looking for someone to do hair and make up for me, my mum and my sister for my wedding in June 2019. Alice was quick to respond to my messages. Alice came to me for my trial and we discussed what I wanted for my hair and make up and she also discussed with my mum what she wanted on the day and was able to use my mums own make up as she has skin conditions which means she can not use most make up brands. Alice was friendly and professional from first contact right through to the finishing touches on the day. She was a calming influence for us all when things went wrong with the venue set up and I was suffering the usual bridal stresses. She helped keep me on track to being ready on time. Alice was even kind enough to let my sister use her spare straighteners and comb to curl my daughters hair when our crimpers wouldn’t work. Alice even went as far as to help tidy our prep room up when we were done getting ready. All our hairs and make up were perfect, exactly what we wanted and Alice even managed to cover up the white patch I had on my neck from my tan going patchy, both stayed perfect until the last guests left at 1:30am, I was actually quite sad to have to take the make up off!
